Beginners welcome!
Learn to “compose” or set set type, “lock up” with press “furniture” and “slugs”, roll-up in ink, and make 1-color prints on paper on the Poco proofing press in this introductory class.
We will be printing with oil-based letterpress ink and cleaning up without solvents. It takes a little longer but reducing toxicity and increasing sustainability in printmaking is important to me!
Classes are small, with lots of individual attention and are designed for all levels of ability.
What to Bring:
Think of a quote, sentence or line of poetry you’d like to use for your first letterpress print.
I would advise bringing an apron or smock for printing in.
Participation Cost:
The class fee also includes the following materials: printing ink and 4 sheets of specialty printmaking paper.
*Note: Taxes include VT 6% & Town of Wilmington 1% sales tax rates
Registration: Please sign up by Wednesday, August 5th
Class Date & Time:
Saturday, August 8th, from 1-4:00 pm
